Customization process
Creating a custom watch involves more than adding a logo to an existing model. From the first idea to final delivery, our custom watch manufacturing process is designed to keep every stage clear, efficient, and quality-controlled.
Whether you need OEM watches based on your own drawings, ODM watch development, or a private label watch with a low minimum order quantity, our team will guide you through the following steps.

Step 1: Tell Us About Your Watch Project
The process begins with understanding your product idea, target market, budget, expected order quantity, and delivery schedule.
You can send us:
- Text description
- Reference pictures or sketches
- CAD drawings or technical specifications
- Preferred watch size and style
- Quartz or mechanical movement requirements
- Case, crystal, dial, and strap preferences
- Water-resistance requirements
- Logo and packaging files
- Estimated order quantity
- Target price range
If you only have an initial concept, our ODM watch design team can help you develop it into a practical manufacturing proposal. You just need to tell us what kind of watch you want, either in words or with pictures. The key to this step is to let us know what kind of design you want.
Step 2: Design and Technical Evaluation
Our designers and engineers review the appearance, dimensions, construction, materials, movement compatibility, water resistance, and manufacturing feasibility of the watch.
Step 3: Image making
Our design department will create preliminary image for you to review and see if any modifications are needed.
Step 4: Quotation and Project Confirmation
After the specifications are clear, we will provide a detailed quotation covering the watch components, customization, tooling, sample production, packaging, and estimated bulk order price.
The quotation will normally specify:
- Minimum order quantity
- Sample or prototype cost
- Mold and tooling charges
- Estimated unit price
- Payment terms
- Sample lead time
- Mass-production lead time
- Packaging requirements
- Shipping terms
Production costs may change if the design, materials, quantity, movement, or testing requirements are modified later.
Step 5: Prototype and Sample Production
Once the design and quotation are approved and the sample payment is received, we begin making the custom watch prototype.
The samples allows you to check:
- Watch dimensions and wearing comfort
- Case shape and surface finishing
- Dial color, printing, and logo position
- Hands, indexes, and date-window alignment
- Movement functions
- Crystal and strap quality
- Crown and button operation
- Water-resistance performance
- Custom packaging
A custom watch sample normally takes approximately 40-45 working days, depending on the complexity of the design, component availability, and tooling requirements.
Step 6: Sample Review and Final Approval
When the prototype is completed, we inspect it before sending it to you. You can then evaluate the physical sample and provide comments.
If adjustments are required, we will review the requested changes and confirm whether they affect the price, tooling, MOQ, or delivery schedule. Revised components or an additional sample may be necessary for significant modifications.
Mass production begins only after you provide final approval of the sample and specifications. The approved sample becomes the quality reference for the bulk order.
Step 7: Bulk Watch Production
After sample approval and receipt of the required deposit, we purchase the materials and arrange mass production.
The main production stages may include:
1. Component and raw-material preparation
2. Case machining, polishing, and surface treatment
3. Dial printing and index assembly
4. Hand, crown, crystal, and case-back preparation
5. Movement installation and watch assembly
6. Strap or bracelet assembly
7. Logo and packaging customization
8. Functional and appearance inspection
Bulk custom watch production normally takes approximately 45-60 working days. The actual lead time depends on the order quantity, movement supply, materials, manufacturing processes, packaging, and factory schedule.
Step 8: Quality Control and Testing
Quality inspections are performed throughout production and after final assembly. Our quality-control process may include:
- Component inspection
- Appearance and dimension checks
- Movement and timekeeping tests
- Crown, button, date, and chronograph function tests
- Water-resistance or pressure testing
- Strap and bracelet security checks
- Logo and packaging verification
- Final inspection before shipment
Testing requirements are determined by the approved product specifications. Customers may also arrange an independent third-party inspection before delivery.
Step 9: Packaging and Final Inspection
After the watches pass inspection, they are cleaned and packed according to the approved packaging requirements.
We can provide customized watch boxes, instruction manuals, warranty cards, hang tags, barcode labels, sleeves, and shipping cartons. Before dispatch, we verify the product quantity, model, color, accessories, labels, and shipping information.
Step 10: Balance Payment and Global Shipping
When production and final inspection are complete, we will provide product photos, inspection information, and shipping details. The order will be released after the balance payment is received.
Depending on the destination, order size, budget, and delivery deadline, watches may be shipped by express courier, air freight, sea freight, or through your nominated freight forwarder.
Step 11: After-Sales Support
Our service continues after delivery. Every custom watch order includes a one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and quality problems occurring under normal use. Damage caused by misuse, accidents, impact, unauthorized repair, or normal wear and tear is not covered.
After the warranty period, watches can still be returned to our factory for inspection and repair. The customer is responsible for round-trip shipping costs and any applicable parts or repair charges. A quotation will be provided before chargeable repair work begins.
